You control the Vision Pro through hand gestures, eye movements, and your voice. At WWDC, Apple showed off the headset as a tool for running more interactive meetings and working with colleagues, but the company also demonstrated how the headset could create a portable cinema and gaming experience. The headset wirelessly and automatically connects to a Mac, and you can take over your computer’s desktop (as well as all of its processing power) when wearing the headset. The opacity ranges from an augmented reality view, where you can fully see your room through cameras (and people can see your eyes on the external display), to an opaque virtual reality mode that you can set for a more immersive experience.Īpple wants the Vision Pro to span work and entertainment. The Apple Vision Pro has a feature called EyeSight, which lets you control the transparency of its display using a digital crown, much like on the Apple Watch. Those inserts will be sold separately, though, and it’s unclear how much they’ll cost. Folks who wear glasses will be able to use the headset, too-Apple partnered with Zeiss to develop custom optical inserts to magnetically fit inside the display. Apple claims that it studied thousands of heads as part of its research in designing the headset. The headset has a thin braided cable that attaches to an external aluminum battery pack the size of a deck of cards, which the wearer can slip into a pocket. The display, which consists of a glass front and an aluminum frame, connects to a soft headband that the wearer can adjust for better fit or swap out. The Vision Pro is a headset designed by Apple, so it has a distinctly Apple aesthetic. As long as the total capacity of a system is greater than or equal to the total impact, the system is running and all components are working. Generators have some load capacity associated with them, while consumers have a load impact. To understand the load, we need to divide the components into two groups: generators and consumers. Load is the Create mod’s simplified implementation of torque, which balances the rotation. Now that we’ve covered Rotation and Velocity, we need to talk about the last important mechanism: load (Stress). It's just RawTherapee's sharpening and defringing tools are so much more powerful.ĮDIT: Just in case anyone comes to this thread later, I did manage to get Darktable's chromatic abberation tool to work better. I've read about Art (the RawTherapee fork) but I'd prefer to stay with Darktable. So I'm wondering if there are any scripts that I can add to Darktable that are more powerful for defringing and sharpening than whats already included in the program. And you can use masks and add film grain. Darktable feels more modern, fun and faster. The modules are a lot slower and more annoying to use than Darktable. I can't seem to get the same results with darktable's sharpening or defringing tools.īut then.RawTherapee is honestly a pain to use. Darktable's looks too muddy in comparison when looking at details. It tends to be way way overdone out of the box compared to darktable, very crunchy and oversharpened, but by dialing it back I can easily work with a much sharper and cleaner picture. AND I can actually adjust the levels of it too, it's not just "automatic." Another thing that impressed me was how rawtherapee implements its automatic base curves and sharpening. Not only does eliminate almost all of it, it doesn't suck the color out of the rest of the image. Darktable's defringing didn't really do much of a job in correcting the problem- either I got rid of the chromatic aberrations and LOTS of color in the picture, or just nothing.įrustrated, I downloaded RawTherapee and was blown away by how much better it was for fixing chromatic aberration. I'm using budget Canon lenses so of course I get lots of ugly fringing in situations like this. Then I started editing some landscape shots with lots of detail in faraway trees. I didn't really have a problem grasping how to use them quickly and was fairly happy with the pictures I was getting, so I didn't bother with anything else. I started with Darktable since it was the first name that jumped out, and most of the modules are clean and straightforward. Hey guys, I've just started getting into editing raw recently. We sent out 21 different pairs of underwear to our panel of trusted runners, with each person asked to review up to three products. This is one of the key criteria we considered when testing underwear for exercise. Some materials are able to wick sweat away from the skin as it forms, keeping wearers cool throughout. Not only will this prove heavy and uncomfortable, it could also lead to rubbing. Sweat-wicking properties: As mentioned under the material section, you don’t want your underwear to be sodden at the end of each jog. Among the products we tested, brands opted to make the most of nylon, polyester and even merino wool to keep wearers comfortable.įit: You’ll want a pair of underwear that can keep you supported as you pound the pavements or trails, without being so tight that they feel restrictive or don’t move with the body. However, if you’re after a pair to wear for more hardcore exercise, you’ll likely want something a bit lighter and more flexible, with heightened sweat-wicking properties. Material: Cotton is the most common material used to make underwear. These are the main things to look out for: Always feel the inside face of the waistband before you commit to a pair of boxers. There are several key differences between your everyday underwear and boxers made specifically for sport. The feel of the two styles of exposed elastic waistbands will depend on the material that is sewn into the band. A wrapped waistband will generally be more comfortable for long wears. Most waistbands fall into three categories: fabric stitched over an elastic band, an exposed elastic band sewn to the body of the boxer, or a wrapped elastic band. Waistband: The most under-appreciated factor in boxer shopping is the waistband. For the most part, if you're a boxer guy, you need to have mostly respectable boxers in dark, solid colors or featuring simple patterns. It is also totally fine to hang on to a few of these into adulthood for casual loafing around. There are plenty of boxers out there with funny and silly prints on them that work totally fine when the only people seeing them are you and your mom when she does your laundry. When someone does see them however, they better make the right impression. Look: Despite what every underwear ad ever has told you, most people are not going to see your underwear. If you prefer a slimmer fit pant then you can go with a slimmer fitting boxer but a boxer-brief is probably a better choice. These work well with shorts, sweatpants, track pants, and relaxed-fit jeans, chinos, and slacks. Most boxers have a baggier fit designed for comfort. So stick to 100% cotton or a blend with at least 75% cotton in it when shopping for boxers.įit: When deciding on a fit for your boxers, think about what you'll be wearing over them. Cotton is also the easiest fabric to clean because you can just throw it in the washing machine at any temperature, with any detergent, and then machine dry with no worries. It's durable in a way that way that synthetic fabrics are not, meaning it may tear or fray around the edges but it will not stretch out and loose it's shape. Cotton breathes really well, which helps regulate temperature. Cotton really is the perfect fabric for boxers because of its natural properties. It's time to trash those 0ld ratty pairs you've had for years! You deserve this underwear upgrade.īest Underwear for Men | Best Boxer Briefs | Best Thermal Underwear | Best Socks | Best Pajamas | Best T-Shirts | Best Undershirtsįabric: Unlike other styles of underwear, boxers are usually made from cotton or a majority-cotton blend. We’ve highlighted the best boxers shorts for men, including a silk pair if you’re really wanting to elevate your underwear game. Owning a couple pairs of fun boxers is a subtle way to add more personality to your dress. And as far as style goes, have fun with it! Now, don't go overboard and wear bright neon boxers or boxers with sports logos on them, but rather we're recommending classic patterns and small graphics (like the Printed Boxers at J.Crew). Regarding material, the most comfortable boxer shorts will be a classic, breathable cotton style, a knit jersey fabric, or even a moisture-wicking material (like Merino wool) to prevent a sweaty situation. He is a part of missions called "Stan Lee in Peril" (similar to "Citizen in Peril" missions from previous games). The creative team has also incorporated Marvel Comics co-creator Stan Lee in the game. In addition, a Lego version of Asgard was created. According to game director, Arthur Parsons, and producer, Phil Ring, one of the main settings of Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a Lego version of New York City. Galactus was chosen as the main antagonist of the game. For example, Spider-Man can swing on his webs and use his spider-sense while the Hulk, who is larger than the standard minifigures, can throw large objects, as well as shrink down into Bruce Banner to access computers. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is a 2013 Lego-themed action-adventure video game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. In 1934, the Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd created the first “impossible” or “Penrose” triangle and it was popularized in the 1950s by the mathematician Roger Penrose who explained that it is “impossibility in its purest form.” Recently the same illusion has been 3D printed, too. One interesting aspect of Escher’s optical illusions involves the mathematical conundrum of the “impossible” or “Penrose” triangle - an object that appears in Escher’s work, like his famous print “Waterfall” (see right). Mastering the feat of designing images that can literally look different than what they are is the point of optical illusions, and it now appears that someone has achieved the impossible and printed an “impo ssible triangle” that has one of the bases of Escher’s work and a great challenge for mathematicians and physicists alike. If you take a neck for a chin, a young Victorian looking woman, glancing sideways, becomes an old woman with a very distinctive nose and face. I am pretty sure that my first encounter with an optical illusion was the picture of the old woman/young woman illusion. Or, more specifically, things can be more than one thing at the same time, and your mind and sight can be tricked by something rather simple in the end. The lesson of the optical illusion is a tough one: things aren’t what you think they are. Escher picture until you grew dizzy or simply marveled at the way Escher configured angles and drew objects to trick the eye? Well, there’s no question Escher is a master of illusion, beckoning us to an imaginary world of complexity and perspective that teaches the lesson that not everything is “as it seems.” Or, better yet, things can appear as more than one thing at different times depending on how you look at it. Ricoh 3D is the latest industry partner to join forces with Impossible Objects to drive additive manufacturing forward. The CBAM process can create strong and resilient fine or flat parts, which is important for applications like drones these have been impossible with FDM and FFF technologies due to the short, chopped fiber formation and lamination between layers, which cause parts to fall apart under force. By combining high-performance polymers like Nylon and PEEK with carbon fiber and fiberglass sheets, parts printed with Impossible Objects machines are stronger, lighter, have better dimensional accuracy, and have better temperature performance than what’s possible with conventional 3D printing methods. Impossible Objects’ proprietary CBAM technology can produce parts up to ten times faster than conventional fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printing. By collaborating with the team at Ricoh 3D who recognizes the transformative potential of additive manufacturing, together we will bring these competitive advantages to more organizations across Europe.” “Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, and more have already put it to work to create everything from car and aircraft parts to athletic gear. “Our CBAM process represents a significant leap forward in 3D printing, with faster speeds, better material properties and wider material selection,” said Robert Swartz, chairman and founder of Impossible Objects. “Impossible Objects’ CBAM process is nothing short of a revolution in the way composites are manufactured, so we are proud to be working with the company to be at the forefront of the European movement.”Ĭomposites including Carbon Fiber PEEK and Carbon Fiber PA12 are available through Ricoh 3D’s AM service bureau immediately. These new materials will change the game across a number of industries,” said Mark Dickin, additive manufacturing & molding engineering manager at Ricoh 3D. “Composites are set to be an area of huge growth in additive manufacturing in the coming years. Composites boast key advantages for 3D-printed parts, including superior strength-to-weight ratios, fewer geometric restrictions, superior high-temperature performance, and greater chemical resistance.
